Staycation

Garden + Swimming Pool + Banig + Cloudless sky + Sunshiney sun + A good book. Oh, and did I say SUN? :)) SIGHHHHHH. Nothing more to ask for. :)

But wait, there's more! May bonus pa :) Spiked fruit shakes + slack line setup! (Salamat Xtian sa pagpapahiram, sa bahay muna siya!)

Thank you Lord! :)

P.S. I enjoyed this Staycation concept so much that I did it twice this past Holy Week. More practice needed for making shakes, and MUCH more practice for slack line tricks!

Kicking off the year with...

...lotsa sun!!!

Oscar injured his knee, which led to the cancellation of our Baguio climbing trip. I wouldn't really say it was a blessing in disguise, but it opened up an opportunity for a different kind of vacation. So goodbye freezing cold weather and mountains -- hello warm sun and beach!

Puerto Galera was our destination. A fine way to start the year, I must say. A new place (yes, I've never been there!), a bright atmosphere, a mix of friends (Pinoys, Brazilians, Italians), and a very relaxed pace. A perfect mix of adventure (nakikipagkarera si Miel gamit ang van namin na first time niya minaneho, patungong Batangas Port na hindi pa namin napuntahan by ourselves) and chilling out (decent lodging and a van packed with music players, a speaker, frisbee, chips, Cokes, beer and wine).

2007 was a good year! Cheers to 2008!

china competition

I just want to share my pics from China. For those who don't know, I went there last week for an invitational competition sponsored by the China Mountaineering Federation. Yup, sagot nila lahat, from airfare to lodging to food. Isa akong sineswerteng nilalang.

They say it's one of the top tourist places in China. They contained a body of water to make into this "stream" (at sa dulo, isa siyang malaking dam). Mala-Jurassic Park ang dating. For picture-taking purposes talaga!

Or 196 feet.

the weekend getaway

what happens when a bunch of friends get left behind by OTHER friends on a long weekend? they orchestrate an unforgettable event of their own.

check out the pics of our impromptu zambales trip (25-26 August 2007). salamat, silver city sa libreng wifi at nakapag-research kami ng friday night kung saan pwede pumunta. salamat, carlo perez sa pagpapakilala sa amin sa megan's resort (kahit na 2 hours later mo binigay kay allen yung celphone nila). salamat, ati allen sa pinaggastusan mong text brigade.

hindi ko makakalimutan ang sobrang daling kumbinsihing mga kasama. mga tipong isang text lang na, "beach tayo!", at 30 seconds later dadating ang reply na, "game ako! saan?" at syempre, salamat sa buong cast! in order of arrival at mcdo q ave: ina (syempre ladies first), miel, allen, ida, marco, aldwin, kristine, robert, thea, mity, igan.

here's the pics from miel's camera.
